Why Naming Matters

Your Plex server name appears in the Plex app on all devices. A clear name helps you (and anyone you share with) identify which server to use — especially if you have multiple servers or share with friends who have their own.

How to Change the Server Name

1. Open Plex Web → Settings → General
2. Change Friendly name to something descriptive (e.g., “My Seedbox”, “Evoseedbox Media”)
3. Click Save

Naming Best Practices

• Keep it short and recognizable
• Avoid special characters (some Plex clients handle them poorly)
• If sharing, use a name others will recognize (not “localhost” or “seedbox123”)
