AutoTools: Auto-Move Completed rTorrent Downloads

What Is AutoTools?

AutoTools is an ruTorrent plugin that automatically moves completed downloads to a specified folder. This keeps your download directory clean and organizes files for Plex/Sonarr/Radarr.

Enabling AutoTools

1. In ruTorrent, go to Settings (gear icon)
2. Navigate to AutoTools tab
3. Enable AutoMove

Configuration

• Path to finished downloads: ~/media/ or ~/complete/
• Operation: Move (recommended) or Copy+Hardlink
• Use label as subfolder: Enable this to auto-organize by label (movies/, tv/, music/)

Workflow with Sonarr/Radarr

When using Sonarr/Radarr, AutoTools isn’t strictly necessary — Sonarr/Radarr handle file moving themselves. AutoTools is most useful for manual downloads you want auto-organized.
