One library for Plex and Nuplex

Nuplex — the EvoSeedbox app for phone and TV — has a Seedbox Library that shows the media on your seedbox with posters and episode lists. It reads the same organised folders Plex does, so one copy of each file serves both.

How Nuplex finds media

The library scans every folder under downloads that is not a torrent’s own folder. It recognises a Name (Year) folder as a movie or show, S01E01 file names as episodes and Name 01 - Title as anime, and it reads the movie.nfo / tvshow.nfo id files EvoSeedboxBot writes, so the poster and details are exact rather than guessed from the name.

Setting it up

  1. Use the Nuplex + Plex presets (TV, Movies, Anime) or leave the auto-organise defaults; they write this layout.
  2. Keep the output inside downloads — the default downloads/media, or your Plex folders. Nuplex does not look outside it.
  3. Organise, or switch on auto-organise. Items appear in Nuplex within about two minutes; there is nothing to refresh.

Sharing folders with Plex

If Plex already scans downloads/tv and downloads/movies, point EvoSeedboxBot there (it does so itself on first start when it finds your Plex). Both apps read the same files; the torrent keeps seeding because the organised names are hardlinks.

What Nuplex shows

One tile per show or movie, episodes listed inside, playable from the tile. Torrent-owned folders are listed separately under Downloads, so nothing appears twice.

Note: the Nuplex library indexes organised folders first and holds up to 1,500 saved-folder items.
