Published by EvoSeedbox. We are one side of this comparison. Seedhost details come from seedhost.eu as of October 2026; sources are listed at the end.

Seedhost (seedhost.eu) and EvoSeedbox both host boxes in the Netherlands, both run on rTorrent-based setups, and both offer Plex. The differences are in how much storage you get for the money, which apps you can run, and how the plans are packaged. Here is a fact-based comparison.

Where Seedhost is stronger

Storage per euro. Seedhost’s shared HDD plans are very cheap per terabyte: 2 TB for €5, 7 TB for €15.75, 12 TB for €27 and 24 TB for €55 a month. Our biggest plan is 8 TB for $60. If you mostly need space for long-term seeding, Seedhost gives you far more of it for the price. That is a real advantage and we would rather say so.

Torrent client choice. Seedhost’s app list includes rTorrent with ruTorrent, qBittorrent, Deluge and Transmission. EvoSeedbox runs rTorrent with ruTorrent only, so if you need qBittorrent or Deluge, Seedhost fits and we do not.

A path to dedicated hardware. Seedhost sells dedicated servers and dedicated app accounts from €28 a month (its dedicated app account lists 8 TB and 100 TB of traffic), plus virtual servers. If you expect to outgrow shared hosting, you can stay with the same company.

Prepay discounts. Seedhost takes 5% off for 3 months, 10% for 6 and 15% for 12. Our annual billing costs the same as 12 monthly payments; we only discount it during promotions.

Where EvoSeedbox is stronger

Plex on every Plex plan, from the smallest. Seedhost allows streaming apps from the HD 7 plan upward, and only one streaming app at a time on shared plans. Every EvoSeedbox Box+Plex plan includes Plex streaming, from Spidey (2 TB, $15) through IronMan (4 TB, $30), Hulk (6 TB, $45) and Thanos (8 TB, $60). See the Plex seedbox page.

Downloads never count. On EvoSeedbox, incoming torrent traffic is unlimited on every plan, and the allowance applies only to what leaves the box. Seedhost’s plans list a single monthly traffic figure.

A modern app catalogue. Seedhost lists 60+ installable apps, a mix of current tools (Sonarr, Radarr, Jackett, Tautulli) and older ones (Sickbeard, Couchpotato, Headphones). Our app catalogue focuses on current tools: Jellyfin, Emby, Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Readarr, Prowlarr, Bazarr, Overseerr, Jellyseerr, Autobrr, SABnzbd, NZBGet, Syncthing, rclone, Nextcloud, WireGuard and more. App Doctor monitors installed apps and fixes common faults automatically.

Full app suite from $10. Every plan runs on a 10 Gbps network. From the Speed plan (300 GB, $10) up, you get the full app set. Blitz ($5, 150 GB) includes ruTorrent and a basic app set.

Honest notes on our side

On storage per dollar, especially at the high end, Seedhost is well ahead of us. Our strengths are the Plex packaging, unlimited downloads and the app stack, so pick us if those are what you need.

Which should you choose?

  • Choose Seedhost for the most terabytes per euro, qBittorrent or Deluge, or a route to dedicated servers.
  • Choose EvoSeedbox for Plex on a 2 TB plan or bigger, unlimited downloads, and current *arr and media apps in one click.
