Testing Your Seedbox Speed

LibreSpeed is a self-hosted speed test tool that measures the actual connection speed between your computer and your seedbox — not your ISP speed, but the specific path between you and the seedbox datacenter.

Running a Speed Test

If LibreSpeed is installed on your seedbox:

  1. Open LibreSpeed from your seedbox dashboard or URL
  2. Click Start
  3. Note the download speed, upload speed, and latency

Understanding Results

  • Download speed: How fast you can pull files FROM the seedbox (limited by your home internet)
  • Upload speed: How fast you can push files TO the seedbox
  • Latency: Round-trip time between you and the datacenter (lower is better)

If Speeds Are Low

  1. Try rerouting your seedbox to a different network backbone
  2. Use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi
  3. Test at different times of day (peak vs off-peak)
  4. Use LFTP with segmented downloads to maximize throughput

Put this into practice

EvoSeedbox ships with one-click app installs and up to 10 Gbps per box.
