What Is AutoTools? #
AutoTools is an ruTorrent plugin that automatically moves completed downloads to a specified folder. This keeps your download directory clean and organizes files for Plex/Sonarr/Radarr.
Enabling AutoTools #
- In ruTorrent, go to Settings (gear icon)
- Navigate to AutoTools tab
- Enable AutoMove
Configuration #
- Path to finished downloads: ~/media/ or ~/complete/
- Operation: Move (recommended) or Copy+Hardlink
- Use label as subfolder: Enable this to auto-organize by label (movies/, tv/, music/)
Workflow with Sonarr/Radarr #
When using Sonarr/Radarr, AutoTools isn’t strictly necessary — Sonarr/Radarr handle file moving themselves. AutoTools is most useful for manual downloads you want auto-organized.
