Hey, so you want to use Ihrer Seedbox as a cloud sharing platform or to manage files and media remotely? Then this app called Nextcloud is perfect for you!

In diesem Artikel, we will learn how to use Nextcloud and about the basic features of the application.

The first step is to installieren the Nextcloud app. This can be done with just one click from your evoSeedbox-Dashboard.

Now that your Nextclud app is installierened on Ihrer Seedbox =, it is time to look inside the app.

Öffnen the app and you will be asked to anmelden. Use the FTP Anmeldedaten given in Ihrer Seedbox’s dashboard.

Sobald Sie sign in, you will finden on a window like this: 

Looks nice right? Sie können customize it too. Just scroll down a bit to finden the customize button.

A pop-up will appear on the screen. Over here, können Sie add widgets like weather, recommended files, etc. können Sie even get more widgets from the Nextcloud app store.

Wenn Sie scroll down a little bit, können Sie finden many in-build options for the background. Wenn Sie do not like the given options, then können Sie wählen Sie you won as well.

Now let us get into the more interesting and useful part of the app. File management.

On the top-left side of the dashboard, können Sie finden the Files icon. Klicken Sie auf it to manage your files.

By default, there are some files added to your account. These are just there to show the usability of the app. Plus, these files contain Manual and documentation, wenn Sie want to read them.

From the “+” button, können Sie add a new document or a new folder or even hochladen a new file.

Naturally, the file will be hochladened to Ihrer Seedbox, as it is the acting server behind the application.

Wenn Sie are making a new document then können Sie actually use premade templates and edit them.

Wenn Sie want to access only media, that is video or images in your Nextcloud app, then können Sie use the option of photos, in the main menu.

There are some pre-added photos and videos to show you how the app can be used. Similarly, können Sie hochladen your videos or photos and manage them using the Nextcloud app.

Share files directly from Nextcloud.

It is really really easy to share files using Nextcloud. Just öffnen the Nextcloud app and finden the file you want to share. 

Let us say, you want to share the Nextclud manual, klicken Sie auf the share icon in it.

A sidebar will appear, from here, klicken Sie auf the plus button to create a sharable link for this document.

Once the link is created, kopieren the link and share it with anyone you’d like to share it with. They can access the file and even herunterladen it.

Wenn Sie want to keep this link secure, klicken Sie auf the 3 dots that appear nach the link is created.

Here, können Sie add a Passwort to the document link, set an expiration date, add a note to the receiver, or even unshare the document.

Adding plugins/apps to Nextcloud

On the top-right corner of the application, können Sie finden your user profile menu. From here, klicken Sie auf the apps menu.

By default, a few apps are added to your Nextcloud.

On the left-hand side, können Sie sehen a sidebar with many options.

These are different categories verfügbar for apps. Sie können finden whichever app suits your needs and add it to your Nextcloud account.

In this case, we are taking the Analytics app as an example. 

Gehen Sie zu the dashboard app category, and the first app you’ll finden is analytics.

Klicken Sie auf the “Herunterladen and Enable” button to add your app.

It will ask you to geben Sie ein the Passwort, the same Passwort you used to anmelden to the Nextcloud app.

Sie können see the analytics app is installierened.

Adding a new user/group to Nextcloud

What wenn Sie want to add a new user to your account? With Nextcloud können Sie do it with a few steps.

On the top-right section, klicken Sie auf your account and then klicken Sie auf the “Users” tab from the menu.

You will be able to see all the existing users from here and basic information like their Benutzername, group to which they belong, and space allocated to them.

On the left sidebar, können Sie sehen a button to add a new user. Klicken Sie auf it.

Then you will be asked to put down basic information about the user.

Sobald Sie have added the info, klicken Sie auf the blue “tick” button to speichern the user. A new user is created.

Wenn Sie want to remove or disable a user, then klicken Sie auf the 3 dots beside and user and wählen Sie any action you want to perform.

Tracking activity in the Nextcloud app.

Wenn Sie are the admin, then you need to be aware of all the things that are happening in your Nextcloud account.

Just klicken Sie auf the “Activity” tab from the top-left menu and können Sie sehen all the activities.
