When ruTorrent downloads a file to <code>\/home\/user\/downloads\/<\/code>, Sonarr needs to know that path to import the file \u2014 but if Sonarr sees a different path, imports fail.<\/p>\n<h2>When Do You Need Remote Path Mapping?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Same seedbox (most common):<\/strong> Usually NOT needed \u2014 Sonarr\/Radarr and ruTorrent see the same filesystem<\/li>\n<li><strong>Home Sonarr \u2192 Remote seedbox:<\/strong> NEEDED \u2014 your home Sonarr sees different paths than your seedbox<\/li>\n<li><strong>Docker containers:<\/strong> May be needed if mount paths differ between containers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Setting Up Remote Path Mapping<\/h2>\n<h3>In Sonarr:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Settings \u2192 Download Clients \u2192 scroll to <strong>Remote Path Mappings<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>+<\/strong> to add a mapping<\/li>\n<li>Set:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Host:<\/strong> localhost (or your seedbox IP if connecting remotely)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remote Path:<\/strong> The path as your download client sees it (e.g., <code>\/home\/user\/downloads\/<\/code>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Local Path:<\/strong> The path as Sonarr sees it (e.g., <code>\/downloads\/<\/code> in Docker, or same as remote if on same machine)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Common Scenarios<\/h2>\n<h3>Scenario 1: Everything on the same seedbox (no mapping needed)<\/h3>\n<p>If Sonarr, ruTorrent, and Plex all run on your Evoseedbox, they share the same filesystem. No remote path mapping needed \u2014 just ensure Sonarr&#8217;s root folder and ruTorrent&#8217;s download path are correct.<\/p>\n<h3>Scenario 2: Home Sonarr connected to seedbox ruTorrent<\/h3>\n<p>You run Sonarr at home but ruTorrent on your seedbox. Files download to <code>\/home\/user\/downloads\/<\/code> on the seedbox. Your home Sonarr accesses them via SSHFS mounted at <code>\/mnt\/seedbox\/downloads\/<\/code>. Remote path mapping:<\/p>\n<pre><code>Host: seedbox-ip\nRemote: \/home\/user\/downloads\/\nLocal: \/mnt\/seedbox\/downloads\/<\/code><\/pre>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<h3>&#8220;Import failed: file not found&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>This almost always means a path mismatch. Check: does the path Sonarr reports in the error actually exist? If not, add a remote path mapping.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8220;Permissions denied&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>The Sonarr process needs read\/write access to both the download folder and the media root folder.
